We simply LOVE each other
But definitely we LOVE God more than any other things in this world
ok...its been sometime since someone updated something...anyway...my main purpose here tiz time is to share wif all of u something that has impacted me... I think its not out of coincidence but rather it was God that want me to go through this... The reason why i say it is not of coincidence was beause my facilitator actually asked our class if anyone wanted to volunteer to do some research on this guy called Dick Hoyt and share with the class next week...so i merely did a small research on the spot to find out what isit about and so the facilitator actually asked if i could do it for him and so of course i said no problem... So after doing research and preparing a powerpoint presentation, i decided to share it wif all of u here...
This research is about a guy called Dick Hoyt...The main point that i learnt the most from this research is about his unconditional love he had for his physically disabled child. The child name was Rick Hoyt. When Rick was born, the doctor told Dick that Rick is a vegetable and suggested that they "put him away". meaning in simple terms to kill Rick. Dick refused and chose to raise Rick as "normally" as he n Judy could.
So it was during 5 years old where a group of engineers from a university did some test to see if Rick brains were functioning. At first the results were negative. Rick's brains were like dead but Dick told the engineers to tell Rick a joke and Rick actually laughed. This proved his brains were actually working. So they made a communicator for Rick and his 1st words was "Go Bruins." it was where the stanley cup was held. It is the hockey games so Rick was actually following the hockey games even though he was disabled.
2 years after he got into a public school, the school organised a 5 mile benifit run for a local lacrosse player who had been paralyzed in an accident. Rick told his father that he wanted to participate and Dick said he would push him on a wheelchair n run the 5 miles. Dick, not having run more than a mile for years, is going to run 5 miles just because his son said it. The reason why Rick wanted to join the race was because he wanted to show that player even though he might be paralyzed, life still goes on. Being paralyzed is not the end of the world. There are still many things a paralyzed person can do in life.
Anyway,as soon as they got home after the race, Rick immediately said "when we were running, It felt like I wasn't disabled anymore! " using his communicator. DIck then remembered the smile Rick has on his face at the end of the race. It was the best smile ever.
So from that point onwards, Dick's life was changed. He made it a point to give Rick the feeling as often as he could. They then did a total of 958 events including marathons n triathlons. In triathlons, he would push Rick on a wheelchair for the runs, pull him on a float while swimming and put him infront of a specially designed 2 wheel bike and cycle. The two of them were just 35 mins away from the Boston Marathon world record. Dick would have broken the world record by himself but he did not. He did it all for his child. This shows his selflessness. He said without Rik, he would never be able to run that fast.
On the other hand, a few years back, Dick suffered from a mild heart attack and doctors found out that 95% of one of his arteries is clogged and if it wasnt for his constant running that kept him healthy, he would have died 15 years ago.
So linking back to what God want us to do. SERVANTHOOD. Dick served his son unconditionally and loved him unconditionally. And in return, God poured blessings many folds back to him by letting him live longer. I think God is moving greatly in Dick Hoyt. Actually it not fully descirbed yet...if u all want to know more ask me...i am more than willing to share...
Anyway too much of words already...Here is a video... But please be patient and view the whole video...It's only 6 mins long but it is going to change your life. you can see the unconditional love. Although it is a father to son thg, i am sure this is applicable to anyone. It need not only be family. It can be friends too... So here is the video. Plz let the video load finish before playing the whole thg to get the best feelings n understanding
